          JOB PURPOSE

The KAIZEN Consultant is a key member of the Institute responsible for leading the efforts of KAIZEN Promotion.

The objective of this position is to lead the customer to attain improvement objectives, including but not limited to such areas as Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, Security and productivity improvement, customer satisfaction, workforce development, time reduction, defect reduction, by teaching appropriate KAIZEN tools and methodologies to find out problem causes, root cause analysis, and to implement countermeasures.

The KAIZEN Consultant should be seen by management as an expert problem-solving resource or a person that has the capacity to facilitate such problem solving.

          RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Budget, Continually Strengthen Base Business, 5S, Safety, Develop Teamwork.
  • Directly manage the KAIZEN promotion activities of the client organisations.
  • Participate in the development of the KAIZEN strategy.
  • Coordinate with Superiors to identify opportunities and define KAIZEN events.
  • Coordinate New Customer Development activities.
  • Facilitate events as applicable.
  • Manage resources to attain Institute’s objectives.
  • Monitor and communicate the performance of kaizen to all stakeholders in the organisation.
  • Sit on Committees to bring the influence of the KAIZEN mindset to topics such as capital expenditure planning, human resource policies, and annual objective setting.
  • Ensure sustaining systems are in place such as suggestion systems, team leaders and group leaders with appropriate control capabilities and clear roles and responsibilities, and Houshin planning.
  • Benchmark organizations doing KAIZEN and build peer-to-peer learning networks.
  • Write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Customer Skill Development and Human Capital Improvement.
  • Any works as may be assigned by Superior.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum Credit or better in any field, but preferably in Production Management/ Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Economics etc
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills and a demonstrated ability to drive to consensus and lead teams to successful outcomes via influence and motivation.
  • A partnering approach and a willingness to get hands-on on the shop floor.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as the ability to grasp the big picture and understand how the details fit into it.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and analytical skills.
  • Six Sigma or other certification is a plus, although actual accomplishments will carry more weight.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Two to three (2-3) years’ work experience in roles focused on Kaizen, lean, or similar continuous improvement methodologies, and a successful track record of driving measurable improvements.
